Winter Solstice Spice Mead

images/stories/2010 aosm.jpgThis is a mulled mead or spiced mead also known as methaglin. Winter Solstice is a Mead for any occasion, but is best during the winter Holidays (Thanksgiving, Winter Solstice, Christmas, 12th Night). This mead makes a perfect wassail by adding slices of orange, lemon and apple. It is best served warm.  In the middle ages you would heat this mead by sticking a hot poker in it. We recommend 15 - 30 seconds in the microwave. This brings out the spice.
