images/stories/2009 elderberry port.jpgGrowing up in Columbia County hunting and fishing I spent many late fall picking elderberries with my family and making them into jellies and syrup and now wine. Made in a port style, this wine pairs well with Gorgonzola, Roquefort or Stilton cheese and with dark or bittersweet chocolate. Choose this wine instead of Port, Chianti or Sherry.

ABV: 16%

RESIDUAL SUGAR: 12%

NUTRITIONAL FACTS:

Elderberry is a powerful antioxidant and is rich in bioflavonoids and Vitamins A, C, and E. It has been shown that extract of elderberry is effective in treating symptoms of the flu.
